Dr. Janis Cole: Honoring and recognizing Dr. Janis Cole for over 40 years of impact in Deaf interpreting, translation, Deaf Studies, education, and leadership. From helping shape the National Deaf Interpreters movement to launching RIT’s first Deaf-centered signed language translation program in 2023, her legacy continues to inspire generations.
Fun fact: Before academia, Janis performed on Broadway in New York City and hopes to return to the stage someday!
